Pastor Matthew Reis was born and grew up in Manitowoc,  Wisconsin. His father and mother are both retired. His father owned his own construction buisness and built and remodeled houses and his mother worked as a banker.

Pastor Reis began his schooling at Immanuel Lutheran School in Manitowoc, WI. He became a communicant member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Mishicot, WI in April of 1998.

In the fall of 1998 Pastor Reis enrolled at Manitowoc Lutheran High School. During high school, he enjoyed playing in the band, being part of the touring choir and acting in many different dramas, including Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls,  and Pride and Prejudice among others.

It was during his years at Manitowoc Lutheran that he was encouraged by one of the pastors serving there to become a pastor himself.

He took the appropriate high school courses and then continued his path toward the pastoral ministry at Martin Luther College where he graduated in 2006. During his years at MLC, he studied Greek and Hebrew so that he could get into the Bible directly via its original languages. He is still thankful for the ministry tools that his alma mater gave him. One of the highlights of his time at MLC is meeting his future wife, Katrina, during choir where he sat directly behind her. The rest as we say is history. Pastor Reis and Katrina were married in June of 2009.

Pastor Reis’ final four years of school were spent at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI where he graduated in 2010. His vicar year was served in New Berlin, WI at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Pastor Reis enjoys the outdoors including fishing and he also enjoys watching sports of all levels.

Upon graduation in May of 2010 Pastor Reis was assigned as associate pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He served there until 2015 when he accepted the divine call to serve Trinity in Bangor, Michigan. Pastor and his wife, Katrina, have three children, Isaac Matthew, born September 2010, Seth Charles born November 2012, and Julia Marie born May 2015.

Pastor Reis looks forward to meeting everyone at Trinity and in the Bangor area and guiding the area in God's Word. If you wish to contact Pastor Reis, please fill out the contact form or call his cell phone at 269-993-6400.
